Process/Talks
An informal showing and feedback series for contemporary dance
Process/Talks is an informal showing and feedback series for contemporary dance choreographers in all stages of their careers. Process/Talks invites choreographers to share works-in-progress, try out new material, or show work for the first time in a non-judgemental setting. Each session is open to the public and features 3-4 choreographers showing up to 15 minutes of dance work each, followed by a moderated group discussion led by special guest artists and dance professionals. Process/Talks is a casual monthly event which removes the formal division between performer and spectator, bringing artists, audiences, and dance novices together to watch and talk about dance. The program provides young dance artists rare opportunities for feedback and interaction with the public. Audiences learn more about the artists’ creative process becoming better-informed viewers, while artists hone the skill of talking about their work.
Process/Talks is open to all choreographers at all levels of experience. Choreographers must be over the age of 18 and not students.

Choreographers’ Circle
A residency and feedback cohort for emerging and established choreographers
Choreographers’ Circle is a residency and feedback cohort for emerging and established choreographers that supports six choreographers in the development of new works over the course of six months. Intended for choreographers who want to engage in a challenging and collegial feedback community with their peers, Choreographers’ Circle requires that the selected group meet monthly during the residency period. The program serves as a supportive framework for choreographic research and artistic risk-taking, offering choreographers a rare opportunity for deep and ongoing exchange with their peers outside of an academic setting, and without the expectation of a finished product.
Each choreographer is granted 70 hours of studio space for a phase of their creative process. The hours must be used within the allotted six months of the program. The group meets once a month for showings and discussions. During the program, the choreographers and a group facilitator will design final engagement events to share the works and process with the broader public at the end of the six-month period.

Suzanne Dellal Centre Artist Residency
A long-term residency for mid-career and established dance artists
The Suzanne Dellal Centre Artist Residency is a long-term creative residency for mid-career and established contemporary dance artists. Selected choreographers are invited to make Suzanne Dellal Centre their artistic home for the research and development of a new work. Resident artists work with Centre staff to envision and execute a residency that best suits their process, from conception to production, and beyond. They are granted the equivalent of three months’ intensive studio space in the Centre’s newly renovated building, an artistic fee, administrative and production support from Suzanne Dellal Centre staff, and tickets to performances during the residency period. The SDC Residency encourages artistic risk-taking and allows choreographers to deepen their practice in a supportive environment without the expectation of a finished product. Resident artists are required to present at least one audience engagement activity at the conclusion of the residency period.
Professional choreographers with a minimum of seven years in the field may apply.
