In addition to presenting over 600 performances a year, the Suzanne Dellal Centre facilitates a number of programs, platforms and events.
International Exposure is Suzanne Dellal Centre’s annual showcase of Israeli contemporary dance, in Tel Aviv, Israel. Each year the Suzanne Dellal Centre hosts artistic directors, presenters, and curators of contemporary dance and performance from all over the world to experience Israel’s rich dance landscape in its native home. Since 1995, International Exposure has presented a diverse program ranging from the largest, and most established Israeli dance companies and choreographers to emerging, independent, and experimental dance artists.
International Exposure provides an opportunity for international dance professionals and presenters to engage with the broader Israeli dance community and offers direct, personal contact to Israeli dance artists. The platform offers dozens of performances by groundbreaking Israeli dance artists wrestling with questions of identity, politics, aesthetics, and more. International Exposure is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
Tel Aviv Dance
Tel Aviv Dance is an annual festival at the Suzanne Dellal Centre showcasing leading dance companies and choreographers from around the world. Suzanne Dellal’s international stage, which began with DanceEuropa in 1999, became Tel Aviv Dance in 2003, and has since continued to grow, presenting performances from the world-over alongside local dance companies and choreographers. This festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality.
Shades in Dance - Gvanim B’Machol
Shades in Dance is a biennial mentorship program that pairs young choreographers with a professional artistic director to create a fully produced premiere that serves as the artists’ debut into the Israeli dance scene. Many of today’s top Israeli choreographers began their professional careers as part of this project, including Yasmeen Godder, Inbal Pinto, Emanuel Gat, Noa Wertheim of Vertigo Dance Company, Anat Danieli, Barak Marshall, Liat Dror and Nir Ben Gal, Renana Raz, and many more.

Shades in Dance was first held in Ramla in 1984 under the direction of Elida Gera. It was a joint venture of Omanut La'am under the direction of Yossi Frost and Discount Enterprises under the direction of Yigal Sasson. It was established as a competition in order to encourage artists to participate and to enable them to create another piece by winning a prize. It became a program of Suzanne Dellal Centre upon the Centre’s founding in 1989. Shades in Dance was the recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation’s choreography prize.

A physical theater work for ten dancers, the language of Monger contains ethnic-contemporary motifs, exploring the dynamics of hierarchy, power, dignity and the compromises one makes in order to survive.
Barak Marshall, Rooster (2009)
This work is based on I.L. Peretz’s Bontsha the Silent, Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot as well as several stories from the Bible and Yemenite folklore. A co-production of The Suzanne Dellal Centre and The Israeli Opera.
Renana Raz, The Diplomats (2011)
The piece disconnects national anthems from their political-patriotic context and suggests a more private and emotional interpretation. The body, which during the playing of the anthem is normally required to stay still, for the first time is granted the opportunity to dance to its melody.

The Young Ones (2012)
Premieres by four young artists: Zvika Hezikias & Shiri Kapuno Quentz, Nadav Zelner, and Idan Porges. In 2012 Suzanne Dellal Centre commissioned emerging choreographers to produce new works for a shared evening. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

Man of the Hour is an opus in which the individuals who are part of our society search for the glory of the moment and for a piece of memory that will create a personal and national identity in an ongoing journey from an agonizing cry to peaceful serenity. Internships

The Suzanne Dellal Archive Project
The Archive Project includes a multi-part digital and physical collection of materials. With the help of dedicated international interns, we manage the maintenance of a digital spreadsheet which tracks performances since the Centre’s founding, in both Hebrew and English. This project will eventually translate into a sleek online research tool to allow people a glimpse into the rich history of the Centre’s activities. This project originated at the Israel Museum in 2015, as part of the exhibition “Out of the Circle, the Art of Dance in Israel.”
The Archive Project also includes the Centre’s participation with the Google Cultural Institute featuring online exhibits of the Centre’s printed materials and live performances. Additionally, the Centre is working in cooperation with the National Library of Israel to archive and preserve all related publications and documentation of the Centre’s activity.

DancEuropa, the precursor to Tel Aviv Dance, was an initiative of the Suzanne Dellal Centre and the representatives of the European Union in Israel to expose Israeli audiences to the richness and diversity of contemporary European dance. DancEuropa was a result of a cultural collaboration between Israel and Europe, serving as an important means of building bridges, communication and cultural exchange, a partnership which continues today. The Delegation of the European Commission, together with the embassies and cultural institutes of the Member States, adopted DancEuropa as an EU project as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural ties between Israel and the European Union.

Photodance
Photodance was a unique photography exhibition that documented the history of the Suzanne Dellal Centre from its establishment to the present day. Israel’s leading photographers and artists captured the unforgettable dancers, creators, and moments that have made their mark on the world of Israeli dance over the past two decades. The exhibition included portraits of dancers in rehearsal and in performance, both elegantly staged as well as candidly caught. The most recent exhibition concluded with an auction conducted by Simon de Pury, Chairman of Phillips de Pury & Company, one of the world’s largest auction houses.
